Your inner life is yours.

Samara is a place to be quiet. A product about stillness has no business surveilling you. Here is exactly what we do — and, mostly, what we don’t.

Last updated · 21 June 2026

In short: we don’t track you across apps or websites, we don’t sell your data, and your practice and any health signals are processed on your device. The iOS app ships collecting no personal data at all.

1. Who we are

Samara is a meditation companion rooted in the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra, made with care in India. This policy covers the Samara marketing website and the forthcoming Samara apps for iOS and iPadOS. Where the app and this site differ, we say so.

2. What we collect

The app. The current Samara app collects no personal data. Your onboarding choices, streak, and session history are stored on your device. Any health signals (for example, heart-rate context) are processed on-device and are never transmitted to us.

This website. If you join the early-access list or contact us, we receive the email address and message you choose to send — nothing more. We don’t use advertising trackers or cross-site cookies.

3. What we do not do

We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not require an account to read this site.

4. How we use what you share

An email you give us is used only to write back, or to tell you once when Samara is available — never passed to advertisers. A message you send through our contact form is used only to answer you. As we add accounts, audio, and payments, we will update this policy before any new collection begins, and reconcile it with the App Store privacy label.

5. Where your data lives

On-device data stays on your device and in your own iCloud backup, under Apple’s protection — we cannot see it. The limited contact and early-access details you send us are held by reputable processors (such as our email provider) on our behalf, and only for as long as needed to respond to you.

6. Your choices

You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or unsubscribe from any list with one click. On the app, deleting the app removes its on-device data. To exercise any right, write to privacy@samara.app and we’ll respond promptly.

7. Children

Samara is intended for people 13 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has contacted us, write to us and we’ll delete it.

8. A note on care

Samara supports practice and wellbeing. It is not a medical device and not a substitute for professional mental-health care. If you’re in crisis, please reach a trained counsellor — in India, iCall (9152 987 821) or the Vandrevala Foundation (1860 266 2345).

9. Changes

When this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you directly. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised policy.

10. Contact
